Each semester, the School of International Education of HZNU organizes language-teaching classes at elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. Students are to be placed in classes that suit them best by taking a proficiency test. A class is usually composed of 15-20 students. The spring semester usually starts from late February and the autumn semester from early or middle September. A semester usually consists of 16 weeks with 20 class hours of language courses per week. Electives are offered for students to choose from one to three courses according to the students’ interest and Chinese capacity. Field trips are arranged once each semester.

Applicants must be above the age of 18, in good physical and psychological condition.

- A photocopy of passport and a recent photo (white background, 35mmx45mm in size)
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form (Scanned copy );
- Bank remittance receipt of the application fee: RMB 400;
- Performance at original school (for students already studying in China);
Enrollment
- Applicants could submit,via online application, email or mail, application materials to the School of International Education, Hangzhou Normal University (HZNU).
- After HZNU receives the application documents and bank transfer receipt of application fees, the Visa Application for Study in China (JW202 form) will be granted.
- Within 15 days after receiving your application, we will send you Admission Letter and Visa Application for Study in China (JW202 form).
- Admitted students are required to apply for Study Entry (X1) Visa (the study period is more than six months) or Study Entry (X2) Visa (the study period is six months or less) with an ordinary passport, Admission Letter and Visa Application for Study in China (JW202 form)to the Chinese embassies or consulate.
Fees
- Application Fee: RMB 400
- Tuition Fees:
Long-term Chinese Language Program: RMB7500 /semester or 15,000/year.
- Insurance: RMB 400/semester or 800/year. It is stipulated by Ministry of Education of China that all international students should have medical insurance while they study in China. Those with no valid insurance must buy insurance from Chinese insurance companies before registration.
- Accommodation: Single Room RMB 25/40/45/day, including water bill and internet bill. Electricity bills should be paid by the student themselves. There are different types of accommodation facilities for international students on campus. There are individual bathrooms, public kitchens and laundry, as well as cable TV, refrigerators, air conditioners, Wi-Fi service in all the rooms. Daily management and services are run by professional staff.
